Cheese Balls Recipe

This cheese balls recipe will make 2 tasty, soft cheese balls or cheese logs, excellent served with an assortment of crackers.

A combination of different kinds of cheese can be used or just cheddar for a cheddar cheese ball. Either way they are very good.

I like using a 12 oz. (2 cup) package of mixed Tex Mex shredded cheese with jalapeno peppers for mildly flavored cheese balls or cheese logs.

This appetizer cheese ball recipe can easily be put together using an electric mixer or food processor.

Here I will give my method, using a food processor.

This recipe also freezes well. Use one ball now, and freeze the other for later use.

  • 12 oz. shredded mixed cheeses or cheddar cheese (2 cups)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1 oz. pkg. Ranch Salad Dressing Mix
  • 1 tsp. Worchestershire Sauce
  • 3/4 cup mayo or miracle whip
  • 1 cup roasted, cooled and chopped pecans

  • Add shredded cheese to food processor and pulse until fine.
  • Add softened cream cheese cut into 6-8 pieces.
  • Pulse until combined.
  • Add dry ranch dressing mix and worchestershire sauce.
  • Pulse until combined.
  • Add mayo or miracle whip.
  • Pulse all until well mixed.
  • Remove to bowl and chill for about 1 hour.
  • Empty onto plastic wrap and divide in half.
  • Form each half into a ball or log.
  • Roll in toasted, chopped pecans.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • Helpful Hint:

  • Spread toasted pecan pieces on plastic wrap, then put cheese mixture on top and gently roll until well coated.
