Easy Swedish Meatballs





This homemade meatball recipe for easy Swedish meatballs can also be used as meatball appetizers as they are delicious and always a great hit at any gathering.

It is a quick recipe for Swedish meatballs which are baked in the oven, then can be served either covered with sauce or a dipping sauce on the side.

Try them with great results.



Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb. beef hamburger, lean
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk or light cream
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/8 tsp. ground allspice
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix lightly with a fork.
  • Shape into 1" balls.
  • Put on cookie sheet.
  • Bake in a 350F oven for 30 minutes, turning after 15 minutes.
  • Drain off fat.
  • Ready to use with or without sauce.
