Red Bean Chili
Red Bean Chili is a wonderfully satisfying homemade chili recipe we cook often especially during the cold winter months.
A very tasty chili con carne recipe, quick and easy to make, great served with bread, rice or pasta.
This recipe makes 6 servings.
Ingredients:- 2 tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 cups canned tomatoes
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 medium bay leaf
- 1 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 clove garlic, mashed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 2 cups canned kidney beans
Method:- Heat oil in large frying pan.
- Add onion, green pepper and hamburger.
- Cook until browned, stirring occasionally.
- Add all other ingredients.
- Cover and simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Add a little water if mixture gets too thick.
- Ladle into bowls and serve with pasta, rice or bread.
